Andrea Shemeley

Andrea Shemeley

Andrea Shemeley is a visual storyteller who creates a harmonious

relationship between type, imagery, and white space. She is a kind

collaborator and editorial design maven who designs magazines from

cover to cover. With extensive experience as a feature photoshoot

producer and director, she is a creative force both on and off set.

Creative, and passionate about art and typography from an early age,

Andrea Shemeley spent her childhood days in the suburbs of New

Jersey, making spin art on the turntable of her stereo and drawing

custom designs on her sneakers with a black Sharpie. In high school

she was a member of the National Honor Society, Layout & Design

Editor of the yearbook, and received the New Jersey Scholar-Athlete

Award for her success both in the classroom and as a varsity athlete.

Her love for sports and graphic design led her to continue her studies at

Clemson University in South Carolina where she graduated with honors

with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communications. Go Tigers!

Today, she is an award-winning art director and graphic designer with

over 20 years of proven experience working for global brands, startups,

creative agencies and publishing houses across the nation. She has

lived on the west coast, the east coast and down south, and has

somehow landed back in the suburbs of New Jersey, where she lives

happily with her husband and two daughters, and owns a small creative

studio, A Creative Mind for Hire, providing freelance art direction and

graphic design services.
